A Healthy Start to Every School Day
Malnutrition remains one of the biggest challenges for children in India, affecting their physical health, cognitive development, and overall well-being. At Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust, we believe that every child deserves a nutritious start to the day. Our Morning Nutrition Program provides free, nutritious breakfast to over 1 Crore government school children across 25 states and 4 Union Territories in India.
Why Morning Nutrition Matters
For many children in rural India, their first meal of the day is often delayed until lunchtime, leading to poor concentration, low energy, and an increased risk of malnutrition-related illnesses. A nutritious breakfast can transform a child’s day, enhancing their ability to learn, grow, and succeed.
Our Approach: Tailored Nutrition for Every Region
To ensure that every child receives wholesome and regionally suitable nutrition, we have designed four distinct morning nutrition menus based on local food habits and nutritional needs.
Our Key Nutrition Initiatives
- SaiSure Malt Multi Nutrient Health Mix: Introduced in February 2019, this mix provides essential macro and micronutrients to support children’s growth and development.
- SaiSure Millet Multi Nutrient Health Mix: Launched in August 2022, this millet-based mix caters to regions where millets are a dietary staple, ensuring better digestion and sustained energy.
- Wholesome Cooked Breakfast: In schools with kitchen infrastructure, we provide freshly prepared meals that include grains, pulses, and vegetables.
- Healthy Snacks: In areas where cooking is not feasible, children receive nutritious snacks like SaiSure chikkis, fortified cookies, or bananas, providing a quick boost of essential nutrients.

The Impact of Our Morning Nutrition Program
Our Morning Nutrition Program has had a life-changing impact on millions of children across the country. By ensuring consistent access to nutritious meals, we are:
- Improving school attendance and classroom participation.
- Enhancing cognitive function and academic performance
- Reducing cases of malnutrition and anemia.
Our Reach
- 1 Crore school children served daily
- 1,50,000 government schools covered
- 25 states and 4 Union Territories reached.

State-Wise Nutrition Coverage
Our initiative spans across multiple states and Union Territories, reaching some of the most underserved communities.
