The Each One Educate One Foundation is a For-Impact, UN SDGs-aligned NGO, providing free-of-cost, holistic, values-based, residential education to the under-served children and youths hailing from socio-economically disadvantaged and vulnerable groups in rural India; irrespective of their caste, creed, color, race, religion, gender or geography.

My childhood was overshadowed by adversity after losing my mother at the tender age of 8 years. Left in the care of a father who didn’t care to provide for me, my days were confined to a neighborhood chicken farm, depriving me of the joys of education. Fate dealt another cruel blow when I lost my father too, leaving me orphaned and stranded in the chicken farm. A flicker of hope emerged when a distant relative of my father extended a compassionate hand and took me to a new village, far from my familiar surroundings. Although attempts were made to enrol me into school again, I struggled with the academics. Amidst these challenges, the headmaster of the school connected me to our Gurukulam. I was fortunate to get admitted in grade 6; a redefining moment in my life. In just two years at our Gurukulam, I’ve undergone an astounding transformation, from where I was with almost nothing to look forward to in life. My academic progress has been remarkable, but more than that, I’ve flourished emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I’ve also discovered a passion for dance and dramatics. A new found hope that once seemed non-existent has ignited within me.
Life began with its trials as I lost both my parents shortly after birth. Raised by my devoted grandmother in a rundown house in the Benakanahalli village of Vijayapura district, my life took a turn when a kind-hearted person guided us to our Gurukulam. Initially, I felt homesick, missing the comfort of my grandmother’s care. But the nurturing environment of the Gurukulam soon became my refuge. I began to experience a home filled with warmth and companionship thanks to the caring staff and my loving fellow brothers.
Exploring extracurricular activities, I found a passion for volleyball, aspiring to secure a spot in the school team.Despite struggling initially with English, at the Gurukulam, I have now acquired reasonable proficiency with the special attention and encouragement received from my caring teachers, and elder brothers in the hostel. Once a solemn boy weighed down by a difficult past, I now beam with a bright smile that reflects not only my joy and well-being but also the transformative power of education, 360-degree holistic Edu-care and a loving environment.
I’m Navneetha, hailing from Ajjawara, a remote village in Kolar district. I come from a family of farm labourers with no land holdings. My parents laboured in others’ fields, bringing home a modest income that could barely make ends meet. As a first-generation learner in my family, I began my education at a local Kannada medium government school.
A pivotal moment arrived when representatives from the Trust assessed our situation and graciously selected me to join their school in Chikkaballapura. Hailing from a family that traditionally disregarded girl child education and grossly underestimated the innate potential of girls and women in general, this golden opportunity of receiving quality, residential education completely free-of-charges has been life changing, empowering me mentally and physically. It has instilled values and courage in me, fueling a burning desire to serve the needy and the downtrodden, by offering them the gift of life. My dream is to become a doctor, and treat those who do not have the required means and medical facilities available to them. Education stands as my pillar of strength, reinforcing my commitment to supporting children facing similar obstacles.
I come from Hugginakere village in Uttara Kannada district, where I received my primary school education. I grew up in a poor family, with my parents and two younger sisters. My parents worked as daily wage laborers. Since childhood I had a hearing problem and struggled with my speech. The Sri Sathya Sai Gurukulam team that came to my village for screening and selection of needy children, learnt about my problem and visited our home for an assessment.
I was fortunate enough to get selected for the 6th Grade. Not only did I secure a golden opportunity for education but I was also treated at the Sri Sathya Sai Sarla Memorial hospital in Muddenahalli, and received a hearing aid free of cost. My life took a dramatic turn for good and there was no looking back. I improved academically and began taking a keen interest in extra-curricular activities too. My parents are overjoyed to see the transformation and we feel immensely grateful for this unimaginable opportunity that promises a bright and noble future for me and my family.
I’m Bhagyashri, from Kembhavi village of Yadgir District. I am currently pursuing my 2nd year PUC in the Arts stream at the Sri Sathya Sai Prashanthiniketanam campus for Girls. My joining this institution was a pivotal point in my life. The loss of my father during my 3rd grade at my village school plunged my family into a challenging phase. My mother worked as a cook, shouldering all the responsibilities of the family. A few years later, this institution in Chikkaballapur emerged as a beacon amidst the darkness. In a society where the education of girls often takes a back seat, this institution welcomed me warmly and bestowed upon me the gift of free, values-based education. It became a source of empowerment for me. My mother and I deeply value the support and care we have received from this haven of knowledge, wisdom and holistic development. This institution has not only reshaped my life but also instilled in me a strong desire to serve others. It is my aim and aspiration to pursue higher education in our university and give back to society by dedicating myself to the noble cause of providing such education to those who cannot access and afford it.
